Me and the city

And so she tells me
I'm not meant to just take it easy

Flowing with ease, yes
Too comfy in statu quo, no

My soul is old and strong and this life is not meant for sleep
I delight daily in a bucolic riverside paradise
So dear and sweet, so perfect and peaceful
But I must prepare to leave. Not let beautiful cedar trees become a hide-out.

Ready for big city rise up shake down
To root in amongst crowded sidewalks, panhandlers and experimental trends
The biggest the better I'm told
Drop the illusion of control that is, be bold
Bigger than quiet Ottawa or familiar Montréal or la trrrès belle ville de Québec
Perhaps big TO or the Big Apple
Who will it be, the lucky winner
Of what I have to offer

I must oh-I-must follow this new wave naturally
As I sniff out the incoming winds, catching the subtle winks
Orienting me exquisitely
To the whens the hows and the synchronistic ouis

So what's in it for me in the land of Carrie?
What is mine to discover will be yours to savour
Since we share that Original link
Connecting the dots connecting us
In a seamless way, without a fuss
